firsts

well, last thursday, i had to meet up with my gurl Jen and buy gifts for our friend Vanessa who's going to get married the next day. yah, i know. But really for me, it was a brave decision for Vanessa and Niño to get married at their early 20's. i mean today, the older the better. Everyone does not like to gamble and take on the responsiblities this early. (that includes me)
and so, knowing Vanessa who's headstrong and stands up for what she wants, i know they could get through this...

Imagine the two of us, buying gifts for a wedding! we had no idea. grabe! we we're gigling all the throughout the gift buying. I had to not really abandon, but leave early our thesis session. Most of our working friends had to take a leave, and some had to be absent to attend her wedding. Jen and I we're saying that she had to go through this for us din when our time comes!!!! and i was telling Jen, no more baby shower for her!!! expensive na! i'm still not working!!! haha

and so the day has come, January 28, 2004

Transpo was not really a problem since my ever dependable boyfriend was willing to come and drive for us-- Jen and Niña to the wedding. when we we're about to leave, the car wouldnt start...i was a little bit calm, and buti na lang our kapitbahay is an auto shop. they helped us, so yun we took Nagtahan and Espana, although Vanessa textd us instead of Nagtahan, we should take Sta. Mesa, but it was too late since we're reaching Espana na. Buti na lang di masyado traffic, by the way, we have to be out of the streets by 3pm kasi color coding.hehe The only problem left was, we didnt know where West Ave was... we took Timog Ave instead and we we're lost we ended up in Commonwealth..hay naku..we we're all patient naman since nobody knew the directions, we we're just worried, we wanted to on time for the rites.

We arrived there, the place was packed with a lot of older (yes, the lola and lolo kind) of people. we and niño's friends lang we're the young ones. ang naabutan na lang namin was, "Blue plates po sa atin". hahaha

It was a civil wedding, and so i thought there wouldnt be those wedding rituals like the cutting of the cake, the doves and the garter and bouquet catching.

So the host, who was for me very impatient and demanding. Started to get everyone's attention for the cutting of the cake, we got the wishes on the cake -mine said something about the career chuva. followed by the garter catching, then, "all the single ladies please come forward for the catching of the bouquet (is that the way you call it ba?), i really did not want to participate since, i was with the boyfriend, it would be too awkward. but then the bf, said "Sige na,ok lang, nakakhiya, ikaw lang sa mga barkada mo matitira sa table. he's right, and i was thinking what are the chances?

and so, we all lined up there and as vanessa threw the bouquet, it landed on me.. no intentions, it hitted my head then my chest then it fell in front of me. i protested it wasn't for me and besides, it would be akward to participate in the garter thing since some other guy got it--i mean a friend of niño, some other guy --not jog. so there, i was kill joy.
although he was telling me it was ok, i still didnt want to do it.
afterwards, he joked about me getting the bouquet. "Hala ka!" It kinda occured to me that yes, catching the bouquet means "you're next", but hey! i didn't catched it, it landed on me. besides it's not a wedding tradition who would decide when i'll get married. what am i saying?? the last sentence made me wide eyed!
we then headed to manila, we dropped off Anne, Magaan,Jho,Niña and JC. then since Tonet and the my other friends are shooting their short film in Malate, we decided to drop by. and just when i was about to txt tonet, she already sensed it. the text read
:halur! dito kami rothman hotel,rm 314,akyat na lang kayo.ingat!
hahaha that's tonet!
and after the chikahan and some yosi break for my beau, we finally got to catch MEET THE FOCKERS at Rob.Place. It was so hilarious! i know, everyone already watched it na. whatever. hehehe. it was so funny, i was irritated to with the guy behind us, who was laughing so hard it was disturbing na and was telling the whole movie na! kainis! i just hate it when people do that! i mean, if you've watched it before na, keep it to yourself! don't steal our chance to have a good laugh. if by chance we didn't get the punch lines and you did, good for you, don't mind us. it's not your money we spent on this one! he kept when jog said "tsong, pakihinaan" but it was too late. we almost didnt enjoy the movie!!! i hope he reads this! hehehe ok lang sana the laugh, but he was laughing so loud i cud not hear the next lines the actors was saying. grrrrr
kaya nga sometimes, although this thought might be discriminating, pero, di ba, its better to watch in Makati or Alabang and pay 100+ --you'll get your money's worth with the audience you'll be sharing the movie with. Instead of paying a little less than that and be with those kind of people who talk during the movie, laugh so loud, and talk about the movie all together! hay!
assh-hole! hahaha! ben stiller's the best! hehehe
so anyway, those we're the firsts for me this week. and boy was it hell. from thesis, to graduation requirements, to weddings.
**this entry could have been much more better with pics, but my dad's cradle for his phone is not here.damot! hehehe
